Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of mysite-name's plumbing services across England. Please read them carefully before booking any services to ensure a clear understanding of our technical approach, client responsibilities, and the service process.

1. Service Agreement

By booking our plumbing services—whether through emergency call-outs, scheduled appointments, or quotation requests—you agree to these terms. Our plumbing services operate in compliance with relevant UK building regulations and Gas Safe requirements.

We provide professional plumbing and heating services through our qualified, Gas Safe registered engineers across England.

2. Service Scope and Technical Standards

Our services include plumbing repairs, emergency call-outs, installation work, and maintenance services. We focus on providing quality workmanship using appropriate techniques and materials that meet current building regulations.

While we perform work to professional standards, plumbing outcomes can be influenced by existing system conditions, property age, and access limitations. We provide honest assessments and use our technical expertise to achieve reliable solutions.

3. Client Responsibilities

To ensure successful service outcomes, clients agree to:

  • Provide clear access to the work area and stop taps
  • Disclose any known plumbing issues or previous repairs
  • Secure pets and clear work areas before our arrival
  • Provide accurate information about the plumbing issue
  • Make someone available to provide access and instructions

Clear access and accurate information help us provide efficient and effective plumbing services.

4. Property Access and Safety

Clients are responsible for ensuring safe and unobstructed access to all relevant areas including stop taps, boilers, and drainage points. We require clear working space around the affected areas to perform work safely and effectively.

We reserve the right to postpone work if safe access cannot be established or if conditions pose risks to our engineers or your property.

5. Quotations and Work Authorization

Quotations are provided based on initial assessment and are valid for 30 days. Work authorization requires written or verbal approval of the quotation. Emergency work begins once authorization is received, while scheduled work is booked upon confirmation.

Additional work identified during repairs may affect pricing and completion time, which will be communicated and approved before proceeding.

6. Emergency Call-out Service

Emergency call-outs are prioritized based on severity and are subject to engineer availability. We aim to respond to genuine emergencies within a few hours, but response times may vary depending on location and current workload.

Emergency call-out fees apply and include initial assessment and the first hour of labour. Subsequent work is charged according to our standard rates.

7. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of work and before our engineer leaves the property. For larger projects exceeding £500, we may require a deposit before ordering specialist parts. Payment methods and terms will be confirmed before work commences.

Late payments may incur interest charges and affect future service scheduling. We reserve the right to require payment for completed work before scheduling additional appointments.

8. Workmanship and Parts Guarantee

We provide guarantees on workmanship as specified in individual job quotations. Workmanship guarantees typically cover 12 months, while parts guarantees vary by manufacturer. Guarantee details are provided with each job completion certificate.

Guarantee claims should be reported promptly and may require inspection to determine coverage. Guarantees do not cover issues arising from misuse, accidental damage, or unrelated system failures.

9. Parts and Materials

We use quality parts from reputable suppliers to ensure reliability and compliance. Clients may supply their own parts, but workmanship guarantees will not apply to client-supplied components, and we may decline fitting non-standard or unsuitable parts.

We cannot guarantee parts sourced from outside our approved supplier network and will advise on appropriate alternatives when needed.

10. Gas Safety Compliance

All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers in compliance with current regulations. We provide Gas Safe certificates for completed gas installations and safety checks as required by law.

It is illegal for anyone to carry out gas work who is not Gas Safe registered. We reserve the right to decline gas work in unsafe conditions or on installations that don't meet current standards.

11. Cancellation and Rescheduling

Appointments may be rescheduled without charge with 24 hours notice. Late cancellations may incur a £40 charge. Emergency call-outs cancelled after dispatch will be charged at the standard call-out rate.

We understand that plans change and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling requests when possible.

12. Property Damage and Insurance

We take every care to protect your property during work. Any accidental damage caused by our work will be rectified at our cost. Pre-existing damage or issues unrelated to our work are not covered.

We maintain public liability insurance and recommend clients maintain their own building and contents insurance.

13. Liability Limitations

Our liability for services is limited to the cost of the work performed. We cannot accept responsibility for pre-existing conditions, unrelated system failures that develop after our work, or issues arising from normal wear and tear or system age.

We maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance and follow industry best practices in our plumbing work.

14. Terms Modification

We reserve the right to update these terms periodically to reflect changes in our services, UK regulations, or industry practices. The current terms are always available on our website, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any updates.
